From an early age, Nicole Di Rocco, designer and founder of Nicolita, heard stories about Cuba’s past glory days from her grandparents. She reconnected with her Cuban heritage documenting her travels in “Pastport: Cuba The Search For Nicolita.” These stories about her heritage inspired Nicole Di Rocco, the daughter of Cuban exiles residing in California to design “Havana Nights” with the participation of actress Christina Milian. Ms. Milian is also a daughter of Cuban parents sharing a similar connection to the island.

The swimwear inspired by the passion for Cuba’s golden era consisted of leopard prints, flowy beach dresses and vivid colors. The Havana Nights collection featured Nicolita’s signature ruching with heart shape cut bikini bottoms, navy keyhole tops and gold detailing. “We just wanted to make a collection that reflects my personality, but keeps the allure of Nicolita that I love so much,” said Christina Milian as to her role in the collaboration.

Nicolita is a brand portraying the image of a passionate Cuban woman who wants to fall in love all over again– and why not?

You can find the brand worn by the likes of Eva Longoria and Britney Spears at with proceeds benefiting Roots of Hope, a family reunification project with those back in the island.
